Owning a gecko and being recognised as an owner inside our Discord are two separate things. Verification is the step that joins them: you link the wallet holding your gecko, and the server gives you the holder role. Reading this page needs no wallet, no account and no Discord membership.
Wallet verification for our Discord runs through Matrica, a third-party wallet-verification platform. It is the tool GGSG uses to grant Discord holder roles, and it is not operated by us.
The role it grants in the TheGeckoDAO server is called Greenlisted. That is the role our own bots check, so if you have it, you are verified as far as everything we run is concerned.
Two signals. Our welcome bot posts a greeting for you in the #holder-chat channel as soon as the role lands. And the GAGMI concierge starts answering you: the /gagmi command is gated on Greenlisted, so being able to run it at all is itself proof the role is on your account.
If you left and came back, or sold and bought again, re-link exactly the same way. One thing worth knowing so you do not read it as a failure: the welcome message does not fire twice. A returning holder gets the role back silently. Check your Discord profile for Greenlisted rather than waiting for a greeting that is not coming.
The silence works the other way too. If the role is removed, nothing announces it - there is no removal notice in any channel. So if your access quietly stops working, the role is the first thing to check.
Three things belong here and are deliberately absent, because we would be guessing rather than stating: exactly what the Matrica signature authorises, how quickly the role is removed once a wallet stops holding a gecko, and who to contact when verification goes wrong. They are marked as missing on purpose. A blank that says "we do not publish this" is honest; a plausible sentence somebody invented is not.
