## Royalties

- The baseline creator royalty is 7.5%, which is what most Galactic Geckos carry, as of 6 Aug 2026. Some are set higher. Because the rate is stored on each mint rather than collection-wide, the marketplace shows the enforced amount for the exact gecko you are buying on the listing screen. (as of 2026-08-06)

## Fees - what buying and selling costs

- The price you pay is the seller's ask, plus that gecko's own creator royalty, plus the venue's take. Royalties are set per mint, so the all-in price of two geckos listed at the same ask can differ. (as of 2026-08-02)
- Listing, delisting and repricing carry no venue fee anywhere. Every venue takes its cut out of a completed sale, so changing your mind costs only the Solana network fee, a fraction of a cent.
- No marketplace pays us to send you anywhere: we have no referral, affiliate or revenue-share arrangement with any of them. Every venue listed above enforces the creator royalty, and royalties are a large part of what funds the project, so a sale anywhere on this list pays for the building. We point sellers at Orbis and Artifacte first because they are collector-centric marketplaces, built to work with creators rather than to reward churn, and that is the side of the market a long-lived collection belongs on.

What each venue takes (as of 2026-08-02):
- Tensor: A 2% taker fee, paid by the buyer on top of the ask. Nothing is taken from the seller when a listing sells; a seller who accepts a bid instead has both the fee and the royalty deducted from the bid.
- Orbis: Nothing of its own on a listing it mirrors from another venue - you pay that venue's 2% and Orbis adds no second cut. On a listing made on Orbis itself, Orbis takes 2% out of the seller's proceeds.
- Artifacte: 2% of its own on a listing it mirrors from another venue, charged to the buyer on top of the 2% that venue already charges - two cuts on the same sale, where Orbis adds none. On a listing made on Artifacte itself, Artifacte takes 2% out of the seller's proceeds.
- Magic Eden: A 2% taker fee, paid by the buyer on top of the ask.

- The circulating float is published live: it is derived from the staking program each time this page refreshes, and carries the time it was read. ## Governance and ownership

- GGSG's original founders were bought out in February 2022 by GenuineArticles and a group of community members, and the Gecko DAO took over the project's IP, properties and accounts. The project runs on a hybrid DAO model: a small core team building day to day, 50+ community builders, a weekly builder town hall and a weekly community X space, all open through Discord. It stays community-focused without running on token votes - decisions get made rather than lobbied over. (as of 2026-07-31)
- The day and time of the town hall and the X space are not published here, because no fixed schedule is established. Ask in Discord rather than relying on a stated time.

## Who runs it

- A small core team building day to day. 50+ community builders. Collab managers, who handle partnerships. Moderators, who run support and verification in Discord.
- These are roles rather than people, and they carry no date on purpose: a dated roster becomes wrong the day someone's involvement changes, and nobody notices. What shipped, and when, is on the changelog.

## Funding history

- The original team squandered the mint proceeds and the record trading volumes that followed, and did not reinvest them. The buyout in February 2022 started with no funding. In the words of one of the people who did it, we started in debt. Everything since has been funded by community members' own time and money, plus creator royalties from secondary sales. ## Partnerships

- We generally partner with gecko holders. Grab a gecko and let's talk. (as of 2026-08-01)
- The route, end to end: Buy or already hold a gecko. Verify the gecko with Matrica, which grants the holder role in Discord. Message a moderator in Discord. They hand you off to a collab manager.
- There is no partnerships email and no web form. Legal entity, trademark ownership, art chain-of-title and commercial licensing are handled in direct conversation rather than published - a counterparty in real diligence asks these on a call and gets answers.
